SIN by Wendy MacLeod directed by Jordana Kritzer With Christopher Armond, Amy Broder, Henry Caplan, Megan Hill, Kelly Miller, Carter Roy, Collin Mackenzie Smith and Douglas Scott Sorenson as Gerard Set in San Fran on the eve of the earthquake of 1989, this contemporary morality play features 'Avery Bly on High,' a helicopter traffic reporter who is trying to keep herself above life's messiness. Her soon-to-be-ex-husband is a charming alcoholic, her roommate is a glutton, she's trapped daily in a helicopter with an envious co-worker, and her blind dates are disasters. It takes the death of her brother Gerard to make her see that pride is the deadliest of sins, and it takes an Act of God to bring her back down to Earth. "The actors are terrific." "Douglas Scott Sorenson as Avery's brother who is dying of AIDS, strikes just the right balance of vulnerability laced with pride." -- Judith Jarosz, nytheatre.com "Douglas Scott Sorenson as the vain Gerard (is) particularly successful." ... "Sorenson's performance as Avery's AIDS patient brother is vividly authentic and thankfully manages to stay above the stereotype." -- Summer Banks, CurtainUp "Douglas Scott Sorenson's gallows humor, and the way he delivers it, are the highlight of the first act." - Retta Blaney, Life Upon the Sacred Stage "A cast of phenomenal actors that infuse their characters with energy." "With these great performances, Bohemian Archaeology’s new undertaking is a sinful pleasure that should definitely be indulged." - Nicholas Luckenbaugh, Show Business Weekly |
