“Saving Douglas Scott Sorenson for last is not an afterthought, but a tribute. His portrayal of Alfie, an elderly, doddering waiter at the pub, is side-splitting slapstick. I’ve always considered slapstick a bit silly, but not Sorenson’s. Everything he does is hilarious!”
David Green, Broadway World

“The audience falls in love with Douglas Scott Sorenson, playing Alfie, an awkward, hard-of-hearing and unbalanced waiter of an older age—never specified—who unfailingly got laughs with his many pratfalls and staggering attempts at the dangerous stairs.”
Valerie-Jean Hume, CVIndependent

“Douglas Scott Sorenson is also hilarious as Alfie, a first‑time waiter who likely sets a record for the number of pratfalls and slapstick “injuries” suffered by any character in theatre history.”
Stephen Radosh, Gay Desert Guide

Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls has won a bevy of awards, including Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Olivier’s. But it will be an entirely new experience at CVRep as you enter the den of thieves and Prohibition.  Gambling will be what you do when you enter Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, as the production of Guys and Dolls at CVRep will show you just how tough you had to be to get by as night club dancer, illegal craps game organizer, high roller and missionary.  This will be a version of this oddball romantic comedy like you have never seen it before.
